Lakeside Elementary

Our Lakeside kindergarteners and Life Skills students had a wonderful time on their field trip to Lark Ranch🎃🍂 The students enjoyed a fun-filled day picking out pumpkins, exploring the farm, and taking part in all the exciting fall activities. There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and memories made along the way!

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch yesterday with our Gardening Angels as a small thank-you for everything they do for Lakeside! 🌸💚 Our garden may be finished for the season, but we’re already looking forward to next spring and all the exciting things to come. Our students had the opportunity to share just how much they appreciate the ladies, not only for everything they do in our garden but also for all the knowledge and love they share with them along the way. We are so grateful for our Gardening Angels and the time, dedication, and kindness they bring to Lakeside. Thank you for helping our students grow in so many ways! 🌻🌱

Lakeside celebrated our core students of the month today. Each of these students showed core all day, every day cause that's the Lakeside way!!

Lakeside Spotlight: Growing Forward! 🌱🦁
Congratulations to Lakeside Elementary, Mrs. Callie Hoppes, and our wonderful community partners at Altrusa for receiving a 2026 Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence!

Lakeside was one of only eight organizations across Indiana recognized and received the award in the Environmental Education and Outreach category. Under the leadership of Mrs. Hoppes and with support from Altrusa, our Green Team has grown to include 70 students and several dedicated adults who help maintain our vegetable and sensory gardens.

Our students have gained meaningful, hands-on experience with gardening, composting, nutrient recycling, conservation, and sustainability. Their work shows how learning can extend beyond the classroom and make a lasting difference in our school and community.

This statewide recognition is incredibly well deserved. Thank you, Mrs. Hoppes and Altrusa, for planting the seeds of curiosity, responsibility, and environmental stewardship in our Lakeside Lions!

Lions Grow. Lions Lead. Lions Roar.
