Oct 4 Superintendent Update Graphic

October 4th, 2023

Good afternoon, Warren Scholars, Families, and Staff,

We have a few important announcements for the week of October 4th.

I would like to start off by sharing some Warren Joy as we end our 1st quarter of the 23-24 school year! Congratulations to Mrs. Rachel Haynes from Lowell Elementary for being recognized as WISH-TV’s Golden Apple Award Winner for September. You can check out her inspirational story here

Congratulations to Mrs. Natalie Reuter for being recognized as the Indiana Association for Adult and Continuing Education Administrator of the Year! Mrs. Rueter and her amazing team lead Warren’s Adult and Continuing Education program at Highlander Park.

I would also like to give a #WarrenWill shout-out to our K-12 students for their 93% attendance for this first quarter. Although we did not meet our 97% goal, all of our schools have surpassed our attendance rate from this time last year. A special shout out to Pleasant Run for leading the way for our elementary schools, and Stonybrook for leading the way for our Intermediate Middle Schools. Keep up the great work!

I want to give a #WarrenWill shout-out to our Transportation Department as we celebrate Transportation Appreciation Week this week! We have the best drivers, monitors, mechanics, and transportation team in the state! Thank you for what you do every day for our 12,000 students! We appreciate you!

Congratulations to the WCHS Gold Brigade Marching Band & Guard for their Gold Rating at ISSMA State Prelims at Whiteland last Saturday! They have now qualified to compete at ISSMA Scholastic State Finals on October 14th! Good luck, and keep up the great work!

Our hard-working and talented Warren Central High School Performing Arts program will perform their fall play, Clue: On Stage, on Thursday, October 5th, Friday, October 6th, and Saturday, October 7th at our Warren Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $11 for adults and $8 for students and can be purchased using the website linked here

Thank you to the families who have completed the Fall Panorama Survey. The window for the survey is open through Friday, October 6th. We would greatly appreciate your input and feedback on what is going well in Warren and where we can get better. Links to your school's survey can be found here.

Just a reminder that our fall intersession break will be from October 9 - 20. School will resume on Monday, October 23rd. Linked here is a copy of our 2023-2024 school calendar.

Together….#WarrenWill find the Joy in the Journey.
