Aug 16 Superintendent Update Graphic

August 16th, 2023

Good afternoon Warren Scholars, Families, and Staff,

We have a few important items for the week of August 16th.

The NWEA Window has opened. Our scholars in 1st - 8th grades will be taking NWEA over the next couple of weeks. Please encourage your child to do their best as we use these results to adjust our teaching and learning plans.

It is that time of year to get ready and register for the Warren Council PTA Homefest event on Friday, September 1st, from 5 PM - 7 PM. As part of this tradition, students in PK-8 are invited to participate in the annual Fun Run event. This is a great event for all kids to participate in! Additionally, each elementary school and intermediate middle school's PTA will be involved and will provide games for kids of all ages. Come see our high school students take on WCHS staff in the annual kickball game, shop from local vendors, and enjoy some delicious food from some of our local community food trucks. Please register by using the following link, warren twp council pta.squarespace, and look for additional information in your child's school newsletters. If you sign up before August 14th, you will receive a FREE Warren Homefest t-shirt! AND…the school with the most kids participating will receive a trophy! This is a great evening of fun and a great way to support all of our PTA's in the District. We also invite our students, staff, and families to attend the home football game that night against North Central. The game starts at 7PM.

MSD Warren Township, in partnership with the Indiana Immunization Coalition, will provide a clinic to accommodate immunizations required for school-age children on Wednesday, August 23rd, at Moorhead Community Resource Center from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. Families are asked to pre-register for this event. The registration link for the immunization clinic is patients.vaxcare.com/registration. After clicking on the link, enter the enrollment code, IN65942, and then select Warren Schools-8/23Linked here and below are the required immunizations for school-age children for the 23-24 school year.

Thank you for your support for Warren students, schools, and staff.

Together…#Warrenwill find the Joy in the Journey.

Dr. Tim Hanson, Superintendent of Schools for MSD Warren Township
