Jump Rope for Heart will be on Wednesday, Feb. 25 during Unified Arts' Classes. Information concerning this event has been distributed to all students. Please work on your jumproping skills and try to raise money for the American Heart Association to help in the fight against heart disease. Thank you for your support!!
Missoula Children's Theatre production for 2015 is "Rapunzel". Auditions will be Monday, February 2 at 4:30 p.m. in the Creston Middle School Auditorium.
MSD Warren Township students in grades K - 8 are eligible to audition for approximately 65 acting/singing roles in the play. No advance rehearsals are needed for the auditions.
The performances will be at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, February 7 in the Creston Auditorium, 10925 East Prospect Street.
Students who audition must have a clear calendar for the week of February 2 through 6 from 4:30 to 8:45 p.m. nightly and all day Saturday, Feb 7, for the dress rehearsal and two performances. These actors must be available each evening for the entire week for rehearsal and preparation for the public performances. That means no music lessons, ball games or doctor appointments for that week.
Admission tickets will be available at the door for $5.00 per person for ages 6 and over.
Parent preview dates for the Human Growth and Development videos will be at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 15th at Creston Intermediate Academy for Grade 5 and 6 parents, 10925 E. Prospect St. and on Thursday, January 22nd at Grassy Creek Elementary School for Grade
4 parents, 10330 East Prospect St. at 6:30 p.m.
These videos will be shown separately to present fourth and fifth grade boys and girls. Sixth grade students will participate in a program led by personnel from the Social Health Association of Indiana. Following the showing of the videos at both the adult previews and the pupil programs, discussion will be led by personnel from Social Health. Parents are encouraged to attend
one of the parent preview nights.
Fourth grade boys will see “Just Around the Corner for Boys” and fourth grade girls will see “Just Around the Corner for Girls”. Fifth grade boys will see “We’re Growing Up”, and fifth grade girls will see “We’re Growing Up”. Lakeside students will see these videos on February 10th.
For students, one of the College and Career Ready standards’ most important new requirements is that correct answers alone will not be enough. Correct answers are very important, but along with them there is a new set of “mathematical practices” that teachers will expect from students. You are invited to be a PAC Parent!
Does your child ever take too much time to do homework… need an extra boost of self-esteem…use social media…or choose not to follow your directions? As a parent, do you ever feel like you could use some support from other parents who have the same concerns with their children as you? If so, you are encouraged to register for our upcoming PAC (Parents are the Core) sessions. Throughout the 2014-15 school year, six sessions will be offered for parents. Topics include: how to determine what makes your child special and strategies for building these strengths, homework tips, discipline, your child and social media, and information Warren Township parents need to know. The sessions will be held from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at school throughout the school year. Free supervised activities will be offered for children, ages 5-12, who attend with their parents. PAC Kids is open only to children whose parents are attending PAC. Activities will include crafts, computer games and activities, game nights, gym activities, fun projects, snacks, and entertainment. If you are unable to attend the session at our school the topics will be offered at every other Warren Township elementary and intermediate academy. Lakeside is collecting pop tabs for The Ronald McDonald House. The Ronald McDonald House serves families whose children require care at an Indianapolis-area hospital. Money generated from recycling pop tabs helps cover expenses.
